Lagos dep. gov charges students on leadership

LAGOS State Deputy Governor, Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire has urged students in the state public school to be committed to their academics and other extra-curricular activities put in place for them, as this would prepare them for the challenges of leadership in the near future.

The deputy governor, who spoke Thursday at a ceremony to mark the third anniversary of the re-launch of uniform clubs in public schools in the state, noted that the development of the youth was not limited to educational pursuits but other extra-curricular activities, which would prepare them physically, emotionally and socially.

Adefulire while addressing hundreds of students of various clubs, such as The Boys Scout, Brownie, Boys Brigade and Man-O-War, added that the need to march word with action in the quest of having a better society of responsible young adults informed the re-launching of the clubs in 2009.
