UoG Business Dean wants more industry input in curricula

The Dean of the University of Ghana Business School has called for increased cooperation between the school’s academic programs and various professional industries.

The comments by Professor Kwame Ameyaw Domfeh follow criticisms by industry figures of the quality of recent graduates.

Some have also questioned the relevance of current curricula to the development of the skills necessary for success in the business world.

Prof Domfeh elaborated on the proposed collaborations, explaining that the input of industry professionals could help improve curricula and bridge the gap between theory and practice, partly by giving lectures of their own.

He added that as more industrial attachments become available to students, these students will become greater workplace assets.
