Somalia: Car Bomb Kills Soldier, Injures Three in Capital

Mogadishu — A powerful car bomb has killed at least one person and injured three in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu on Wednesday, Witnesses and police said.

A luxury vehicle packed with explosives went off at parking area next to parliament building in the Mogadishu as Federal MPs were walking out a session inside the hall, killing a security guard.

“A soldier died while trying to fend off a saloon vehicle, apparently packed with explosives, to enter inside the parliament building. No MP was killed or hurt in the blast, but only punctured the tires of luxury cars parked outside the parliament hall,” A witness said.

No group has yet claimed the responsibility for the attack.
