Sihlangu unmoved at 190 in FIFA rankings

Swaziland

Swaziland’s Sihlangu has not moved an inch in the latest FIFA rankings. The Valere Billen squad, which will face Lesotho in two international friendly games next week, is tied at 190 with other COSAFA minnows Seychelles and Comoros.

The team had occupied the same position in the last month’s rankings, and they remained unmoved in the latest chart released on Wednesday.

The lowest ranked COSAFA country is Mauritius at 201. In fact, the team is only above Mauritius, Djibouti, South Sudan and Mauritania in the continent. And this is the lowest ever the squad has reached in the monthly rankings.

Lesotho, who they face next week, are ranked 158 and they have dropped one from last month’s rankings.

Meanwhile, Angola, who the team will face in the African National Championships (CHAN) tournament next year, are ranked 83 in the world. The 2006 World Cup final participants have dropped three places from the previous rankings.

Newly-appointed Belgian mentor Valere Billen has vowed to help improve the squad. He has signed a one year contract that will expire in August next year. He has already announced a team to travel to Lesotho for the two friendly games slated for Friday and Sunday next week.
