Fresh after parting ways with head coach Maarten Stekelenburg, Ajax Cape Town say they want to continue with a Dutch coach and have not ruled out somebody like former mentor Foppe de Haan.
Stekelenburg was released of his duties at midday on Tuesday following the club’s 5-1 home loss to AmaTuks on Saturday.
However club CEO George Comitis admits he will be looking for some Dutch influence with the possibility of Foppe de Haan returning.
“We haven’t decided on Stekelenburg’s replacement yet, we will look for someone with Dutch influence and South African experience!
“We won’t be going into the market for new players and we don’t want a coach that isn’t focused around our youth system.
“We would look at bringing back someone like Foppe, but we have made no inroads to a decision as of yet.”
Comitis did confirm a new head coach will be hired by the time they face Mamelodi Sundowns at home on October 27.
