Prez Mahama Addresses Enthusiastic Crowd On ‘Thank You Tour’

President Mahama is currently touring parts of Central Region expressing his gratitude to people over their contribution towards the burial of late President Mills.

He first stopped at Kasoa to speak to a gathering of people and thanked all political parties for their support.

Addressing the crowd at Kasoa in Twi, President Mahama said it was prudent to start the tour from the Central Region because President Mills was a son of the region.

President Mahama went on to address another crowd at Mankessim before heading towards Cape Coast.

XYZ News’ Kwame Danso Acheampong who is part of the press corps accompanying the president on the tour said the next stop of the President is Cape Coast where, according to him, the president will be expected to address a mammoth durbar of chiefs and people.

He said elections were not about insults but the advertisement of political ideas and should therefore, not be characterised by attacks and character assassination.

President Mahama would address durbars at Cape Coast Central Market and interact with National Democratic Congress (NDC) executives.

President Mahama called on members of the NDC to adhere to the virtues of the late President Mills by remaining peaceful and respectful in their political discourse.

“The late President Mills stood for peace, unity and honesty and there is the need to standby those virtues to move the country forward,” he said.

Neenyi Agyemang Otu Otabil III, Awutu Manhene, commended the NDC government, particularly the late President Mills, for constructing a number of good roads and providing pupils in the area with free school uniforms and exercise books.
