Johnson Tips Blake For 200 Meters Glory

Yohan Blake

AMERICAN SPRINT legend, Michael Johnson, is tipping 21-year-old Yohan Blake ahead of Usain Bolt in the 200 meters finals at the London Olympics Games.

Bolt, who was widely rumoured to be out of form, powered to victory ahead of in-form Blake in the London Olympics 100 meters race on Sunday.

But Johnson, who has been monitoring the games with keen interest, believes it would be a different ball game in the 200 meters finals.

He observed that he would not be surprised if Blake won the 200 meters dash ahead of Bolt.

Johnson, in his prime won four Olympic gold medals and eight World Championships gold medals.

Johnson currently holds the world and Olympic records in the 400 m and 4 x 400 meters relay.

He formerly held the world and Olympic record in the 200 m, and the world record in the indoor 400 m.

His 200 m time of 19.32 at the 1996 Summer Olympics stood as the record for over 12 years.
