Ghana youth midfielder Isaac Cofie has completed a four-year deal Seria A side Chievo Verona, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The 20-year-old was unveiled on Monday after passing a medical.

Cofie enjoyed a terrific season on loan at Sassuolo with compatriot Richmond Boakye-Yiadom where he featured 36 times and scored a goal last term.

Chievo manager Domenico Di Carlo is believed to be a huge admirer of the talented enforcer and quickly moved in to tie the deal when it was obvious Genoa wanted to do business.

But he will be co-owned by both clubs during the four-year spell.

He has previously played for Piacenza and Torino.

Cofie paired Emmanuel Agyeman-Badu in midfield for Ghana’s Under-23 team that beat beat Nigeria to qualify for the 2011 All Africa Games.

But he was not released by his club for the tournament in Mozambique which was eventually won by the Black Meteors.
