Swansea deny bid for Duplan

Swansea City have denied claims that they made an offer for Utrecht winger Edouard Duplan.

The Liberty Stadium outfit have admitted that they are interested in Duplan, but that an approach for the French midfielder has not been made.

Utrecht director Wilco van Schaik was quoted earlier this week as saying that the Premier League side submitted a bid that was in turn rejected by the Dutch club.

Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins has admitted they are looking at Duplan, who has a year left on his contract with Utrecht, but have yet to make a decision whether they want to bring him to the club.

“We haven’t submitted any bid to Utrecht,” Jenkins told the South Wales Evening Post. “I don’t know where this story has come from.

“As a club we’re aware of him but he is only one of a host of players that have been mentioned.”
