ICPC seizes Trade, Investment Ministry dep director’s properties

ABUJA — INDEPENDENT Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Commission, ICPC, has started carrying out its recent threat to probe civil servants who are living beyond their means as its seized six properties belonging to a Deputy Director in the Federal Ministry of Trade and Investment, Engr. Victor Igboanugo.

Chairman of ICPC, Mr. Ekpo Nta had, on May 18, said the commission was currently investigating Engr. Igboanugo.

A statement by the Head of Media and Event of ICPC, Mr. Folu Olamiti, said the seizure was on the order of Nta in pursuant to Section 45(4)(a)-(b) of the ICPC Act, 2000.

Properties seized from Igboanugo were two buildings at Pomona Street, Sun City Estate, Abuja, three Toyota cars and Hyundai Jeep.

The statement further said: “The Commission is of the opinion, based on the aforesaid investigation, that these movable and immovable properties owned by Engr. Victor Nnamdi Igboanugo are excessive, having regards to his present emoluments and all other relevant circumstances.”
