Serie A
Spread over a series of three days, Fiorentina meet Napoli on Friday, Lecce entertain Siena and Lazio and Palermo set for battle in Sicily.
Week 24 of Serie A will take an unusual format once more as it will be spread over a series of three days, with Inter-Bologna and Fiorentina-Napoli occupying the first day.
Napoli will travel to Fiorentina in hope of returning to winning ways following a set of poor results and postponed matches. The Azzurri will be hoping that Fiorentina will be short of match fitness given that yet another match was postponed, and they will be out to capitalise on it.
A win for either side will do well for their league standings as they push for a Europa League spot.
Teams who will not be pushing for a Europa League spot will be Lecce and Siena as these Serie A minnows wallow in the doldrums of the league standings.
It will be a tightly contested affair as both sides sit equal on points, with Siena having two games in hand, and a win could prove vital for possible avoidance of the dreaded drop come the end of the season.
The match between Siena-Lecce will be held in Tuscany, at the Artemio Franchi Stadium, and will be the first Sunday kick-off at 13:40.
The match to finalise the weekend’s happenings will be Udinese-Cagliari and Palermo-Lazio, with the latter of interest.
The two teams are never short of a good hard rivalry and it will be no different when Edy Reja comes up against as the team he represented as a player.
The teams are currently both equal on points and are desperate to compete for next year’s European action, therefore, promising a goal fest on Sunday evening.
The match between the two outfits will be held at 21:45 at the Renzo Barbera stadium.
