Angola: UN Secretary-General in Luanda

Luanda — The Secretary-General of United Nations (UN), Ban Ki-moon, arrived this Sunday in Luanda, for a working visit.

At Luanda’s “4 de Fevereiro International Airport, Ban Ki-moon and his delegation were welcomed by the Angolan Minister of Foreign Affairs, George Chicoti and high-ranked staff of UN in Angola.

From Tanzania, Ban Ki-moon will be welcomed at Luanda’s “4 de Fevereiro” International Airport by the Angolan Minister of Foreign Affairs, George Chicoti.

According to his programme, which reached Angop, this Sunday evening, Ban Ki-moon is meeting with UN employees in the country and then he will have an informal reception with diplomatic body and international organisations accredited in Angola.

Angop learnt that both activities are expected to take place at one of the hotels in Luanda.

On Monday, the agenda is expected to travel to Viana district, where he is will visit a health post for fighting against poliomyelitis and project aimed for the betterment of water supply and sanitation to local population.

On Monday at 11h45 a.m, Ban Ki-moon will meet with the Angolan Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Then, the UN Secretary-General will leave for Luanda’s Presidential Palace, where he will meet the Angolan President, José Eduardo dos Santos.

At 3h30 p.m, Ban Li-moon will be received by the speaker of the National Assembly, António Paulo Kassoma.

At 4 p.m, Ban Ki-moon will visit Kilamba town, where he will be received by the Minister of Urbanisation and Construction and Chairman of Administrative Commission of Kilamba town to be informed about project.

At 9h30 p.m, the UN top official will leave for “4 de Fevereiro” International Airport, where he will hold a press conference.

The UN Secretary-General will depart at 10 p.m.
