A few years ago they had both unwittingly piled on the pounds.
But today Linda Robson and Pauline Quirke, who shot to fame on BBC1 sitcom Birds Of A Feather, are both slimline versions of their former selves.
And, as Linda, 53, revealed today on Daybreak, the twosome have lost a staggering 12 stone between them.

Dressed top to toe in slimming black, she appeared on the ITV1 show this morning to reveal all about the duo’s battle with the bulge.
She said they had lost 12 stone between them, adding: ‘I didn’t realise that until this morning. Pauline’s lost 8½, and I’ve lost 3½.’
During the course of their 45-year friendship Linda had always been the slimmer of the two ladies.

In fact, on the BBC1 sitcom that
aired in the early nineties, Pauline’s character Sharon was always seen
filling her face with junk food.
However, last year the roles were reversed when Pauline underwent drastic weight loss.
Linda
said: ‘I saw Pauline looking so fantastic – I mean the last time I saw
her she was probably the biggest I’d ever seen her, she was over 19
stone.

‘And then she went off to do
Emmerdale and then when I saw some pictures in the paper, I thought, ‘My
God, she looks fantastic’. And then I went onto This Morning and
surprised her, and I just couldn’t recognise her.
‘Her
whole frame – I mean you think shoulders, they’re bones, they’re not
going to get smaller – but they have. I mean she’s got this tiny little
frame and I thought, “Right, I’ve got to do something about it”.’
After discovering that she was three stone overweight at 14st 7lb, Linda put herself on a strict diet plan and managed to get back down to 11st.

She also revealed her excitement about touring with the new stage adaptation of Birds of a Feather, admitting she gets on with co-star Lesley Joseph ‘like a house on fire’.
Joking that it would be funny if Lesley was to put on weight, Linda said: ‘She keeps texting me ‘skinny’, and I keep texting her back ‘fatty’! But she’s not, she’s always been tiny.’
