Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will not buy in January transfer window – report

Arsene Wenger is not looking to add any new additions to the Arsenal squad during the January transfer window, according to The Sun.

The Frenchman had been widely tipped to spend after a series of injuries struck his side.

However, the report suggests the Arsenal manager is not looking to buy any new players and is instead hoping his injured stars make a swift recovery.

Wenger is currently without a recognised full-back, with the likes of Johan Djourou and Thomas Vermaelen regularly having to fill in at full-back.

Such defensive woes have seen his side lose their last two Premier League games, shipping five goals in the process.

However, rather than spend Wenger is said to be hoping full-backs Andre Santos and Kieran Gibbs make a swift recovery.

Arsenal currently sit in fifth place in the Premeir League, four points off the Champions League places, with champions Manchester United set to visit the Emirates on Sunday.
