Nigeria: Ondo Assembly Suspends Member for Unruly Behaviour

    Akure — A member of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Folagbade Gbemibade, was yesterday suspended for a Month for alleged unruly behaviour to the leadership of the Assembly.

    Subsequently, the House put in place a five member ad hoc committee to look into the matter and submit report within two weeks.

    The suspended member was however the only one absent during yesterdays sitting out of the 26 members of the Assembly.

    The Majority Leader of the House Hon Dayo Akinsoyinu raised the issue under information that the suspended member was rude to the leadership of the House of Assembly.

    Mr. Akinsoyinu however did not espantiate on the offence of the members as regards his unruly behaviour to the leadership of the Assembly at session.

    Meanwhile, the House yesterday approved the three commissioner nominees forwarded to it by Governor Olusegun Mimiko.

    They include the former Special Commissioner Hon Niran Sule- Akinsuyi, a retired Permanent Secretary Dr Bade Omoloja and the former Special Adviser to the governor on Niger Delta Affairs Bekekimi Idhiarhi.
