Accra , July 14, GNA – Universal Merchant Bank (UMB), one of Ghana’s indigenous banks, has deployed 15 new Automated Teller Machines (ATMs), bringing its total ATM network to 37.
Ms. Yvonne Botchey, Director, Marketing and Communications, UMB, said all the new UMB ATMs are off-site, which vastly extends the accessibility by customers of the bank’s services beyond the 22 physical branches located across the country.
The deployment of the ATMs falls in line with the bank’s future plans to open more branches to encourage patronage.
She said the expansion of UMB’s ATM network was part of the bank’s efforts to bring its products and services closer to customers.
UMB is now replicating its capabilities in financial product and service delivery in the area of retail banking as well, she said and added that UMB aimed to be an African trailblazer in banking, setting standards for the banking industry.
UMB also provides investment banking and fund management services through its subsidiary, Merban Investment Holdings Limited; and provides stock brokerage and issuing house services through another subsidiary, Merban Stockbrokers Limited. GNA
