Moonchild Sanelly livid by SA Radio Station. Women empowerment activist and Musician Moonchild Sanelly\u00a0is putting South African Radio Stations on blast after her new single \u2018Askies\u2019 featuring the \u2018 Jazz Disciples\u2019 has been pulled from radio station playlists in Mzansi. Moonchild describes the funky song as the women\u2019s anthem and is furious that SA radio stations have banned the song describing the content as explicit.<\/p>\n The mother of one is known for her risqu\u00e9 lyrical content and her verse on this song is no different than any other. Sanelly openly speaks of thunder thighs, butts and big bobs and the frustration caused by the difficulty in expressing her body because of society and its restrictions.<\/p>\n Sanelly expressed her disappointment over having the song removed from radio playlist in a two part rant on Twitter with the caption \u201cDear South African Radio Stations and your double standards!!\u201d.<\/p>\n In her video, the singer asked: \u201chow many women are objectified by men in songs and are played on the radio but are played on the radio\u201d and questioned why a song that celebrates body positivity from a woman is removed from the radio.<\/p>\n The \u201cYebo\u201d collaborator let it be known that she will always speak for up for women and will never stop celebrating the no matter how much the media may scrutinise and label her music as explicit.<\/p>\n She boldly emphasised her message saying \u201cI will not stop for as long as it\u2019s about women owning their bodies and celebrating them, I will not stop, you can call it explicit all you like.\u201d<\/p>\n The people of twitter seem to stan with Sanelly as they are also questioning why the song has been banned, saying that the singer has been done an injustice.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Sanelly has now started the #thunderthighschallenge to get the people going.<\/p>\n We\u2019ll just have to wait and see if the cries of twitter have been heard but in the mean time take a look at Moonchild defending her Song.<\/p>\n By Sinakho Mandla<\/p>\n <\/p><\/div>\n
