Zoleka Mandela Announces Split From Husband Of 8 Years! You might have noticed some differences in the activist\u2019s Instagram posts over the past couple of weeks and there\u2019s a good reason for it.<\/strong><\/p>\n Zoleka has announced split from her husband of eight years, Thierry Bashala. Mandela got candid to her followers on Instagram sharing how it took her two years to leave the marriage that \u2018no longer served her\u2019. <\/p>\n \u201cLeaving someone you once loved, for eight long years feels like it completely unhinges your entire life until you realize that it\u2019s sparked self discovery, inner peace and has set you on a path of self love. It\u2019s taken me two years to leave a relationship that no longer serves me,\u201d<\/em> Zoleka wrote. <\/p>\n She went on to describe the relationship with her estranged husband as one that \u201ceroded her self esteem, independence, mental and emotional state\u201d. <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cOver the years, I\u2019ve continued to fall in habit and have tied my sense of worth to things outside of me and placed it in the hands of others. Leaving someone you once loved, reaffirms your strengths, it leaves you feeling more liberated and forces you to look into yourself and to move on even when you\u2019re more comfortable staying in a relationship that leaves you feeling invisible and undervalued \u2026 because you have a fear of abandonment and a fear of being alone,\u201d<\/em> she added.<\/p>\n Zoleka has previously shared how she met her now ex husband in a clothing store where Bashala followed her around pretending to be trying on jeans.
