Black Twitter Reacts To kabelo Mabalane Admitting To His Abusive Ways In The Past. Gender based violence is a serious offence and has become one of the leading pandemic in Mzansi. Many campaigns to spread GBV awareness have been started around the country to give men and women that are faced with the issue whether they are the abuser or the abused. There\u2019s no doubt that one needs to admit that they are an abuser in order to fully receive the help that they need which is not an easy thing to do.<\/strong><\/p>\n Although it is not easy to admit your wrongs, but the important part is for one to get the help they need in order to grow as a person and to also curb the GBV pandemic. It maybe hard to believe but a lot of celebs have a very violent past that they have dealt with over the years. Musician and Businessman Kabelo Mabalane was recently vulnerable enough to share that he also has an abusive history but he has since turned things around.<\/p>\n No that the 16 days of activism has officially kicked of in Mzansi, celebs are putting in the work to hopefully change the narrative for many people. 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence is an international campaign to challenge violence against women and girls. The campaign runs every year from 25 November to 10 December.<\/p>\n Kabelo has joined the #NoExcuse campaign which is a platform aimed at fighting intimate partner violence. Mabalane opened up about how the campaign is very close to home for him because he too was once an abuser. In the Instagram post sharing about the GBV campaign, Kabelo revealed that as a young man he too was once abusive in a past relationship and he is very much ashamed of the behaviour he has to posses.<\/p>\n Kabelo shared the important lessons he had to learn in order to change and empowered perpetrators to also heal so they can get the help they need. <\/p>\n \u201cLast week we launched\u00a0#NoExcuse. A campaign that vehemently condemns intimate partner violence. As a young man I too was a perpetrator of this shameful cowardly behaviour. The shame and the embarrassment made me shy away from these spaces and I\u2019ve since learned that as important as it is to take full responsibility for this reprehensible unacceptable behaviour, I am also now at a place where I appreciate the importance of lending my voice to fighting this pandemic. To the perpetrators there is hope and there is healing. Don\u2019t be afraid to get help\u201d<\/em> he wrote.<\/p>\n Kabelo is no trending after social media users were beyond shook that Kabelo used to be an abuser, and have a huge problem with him playing the hero in the situation even though he has hurt someone in the past.
