Professional chef and content creator Lebogang Tlokana, popularly known as The Funny Chef, has opened up about why she has decided to take her weight loss journey seriously. The well-loved social media personality shared her story honestly, explaining that her decision comes from a very personal place and not from pressure or opinions from others.<\/p>\n
After falling pregnant, The Funny Chef said the weight gain affected her in a negative way. While she is known for her humour and confidence online, she admitted that the changes to her body took an emotional toll on her. She also addressed the harsh and negative comments she has received from people online regarding her weight loss journey.<\/p>\n

In a video posted on her social media platforms, The Funny Chef chose to speak directly to the trolls and critics. She made it clear that her journey is about her own well-being and comfort, not pleasing anyone else.<\/p>\n
\u201cI read some of your comments on my previous video about my weight loss. One, I\u2019m doing this for me and not for you. Two, I\u2019m tired of being fat.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s an inconvenience not only to me, but to the people around me, because they have to watch what they say, and that\u2019s unfair. Three, my biggest fear is getting into an accident and them not being able to pick me up because of my weight.<\/p>\n
Four, I don\u2019t want the last laugh at my funeral as to how heavy my casket was. Yes, I\u2019m a funny person, but such are the kind of things that embarrass me,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
She went on to explain that everyday situations have also motivated her to make changes in her life. From dining out to travelling, she shared how certain experiences have made her feel uncomfortable and embarrassed.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s not nice having to go to the restaurant and having to pick which chair is slightly bigger for my own comfort, and if I find a little chair, I will sit there uncomfortably. I don\u2019t wanna go on a plane and ask for an extender, it\u2019s very embarrassing.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Funny Chef also made it clear that she has never promoted being overweight or ignored how she felt about her body. She said she has always been honest about her struggles and her desire to change.<\/p>\n
\u201cI always said I don\u2019t like how my baby is crying. I always said I don\u2019t like the way I look, and I\u2019m going to change it, and this is me changing it, but keep your opinions to yourself. This is not about you. It\u2019s about me,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
