We live in a country where people are constantly lying about their qualifications and achievements to get better jobs or to gain respect.<\/p>\n
It seems that DJ Sbu has decided to follow this trend of lies and has built a resume that doesn\u2019t not truly represent him and his achievements.<\/p>\n
That Forbes cover was not the only \u2018lie\u2019 DJ Sbu got himself caught in, that was just the first of many if you ask anyone.<\/p>\n
The list of lies started with the Forbes cover and now it goes on with a few other items, it appears that DJ Sbu has also lied about being an ambassador for UNICEF and Nike\u2026wait the list goes on there was also a time DJ MoLies Sbu said that his energy drink MoFaya was \u201cSABS approved\u201d.<\/p>\n
This week UNICEF and Nike were approached by Sunday World<\/em> and both brands have distanced themselves from the DJ.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Sbu claimed that he is a brand ambassador for Nike and the international children\u2019s rights organisation UNICEF on his Sibusiso Leope Foundation website and on his Metro FM public profile.<\/p>\n Siphelele Chingono, who spoke on behalf of the organisation, was quoted by Sunday World and had this to say: \u201cUNICEF South Africa Country Office currently has no affiliation with Sibusiso Leope.\u201d<\/p>\n However there are South African celebrities listed on the UNICEF website but those include Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Danny K and Tshedi Mholo.<\/p>\n Nike Africa Communications Manager Seruscka Naidoo said that DJ Sbu was not their brand ambassador, but he has been a host of several of their events.<\/p>\n Sbu stuck to building up a false resume when he told Sunday World<\/em> last week that Mofaya was SABS-approved.<\/p>\n Sunday World<\/em> approached the Acting Group Manager of Marketing, Public Relations and Communications at SABS Thato Chabeli: \u201cThe product in question, Mofaya Premium Energy Drink, is neither SABS-approved nor certified.\u201d<\/p>\n Chabeli went on to say that Mofaya is manufactured by SABS permit holder Inhle Beverages<\/p>\n \u201cThe permit issued to Inhle Beverages covers bottled water and flavoured water,\u201d said Chabeli. \u201cBut Mofaya is not included on their permit schedule.\u201d<\/p>\n MoFaya has not been getting the right media attention or exposure lately but we guess maybe DJ Sbu is ticking with the \u2018any exposure is good exposure\u2019 motto.
