Resigned EFF member Dr Mbuyiseni Ndlozi has again commended President Cyril Ramaphosa for his firm stance against the US, saying Ramaphosa was not a puppet of white supremacy like many judged him to be.<\/span><\/p>\n Ramaphosa has been accused by many, including Ndlozi himself, of pushing a white agenda rather than advancing the interests of black people who are the majority in the country.<\/span><\/p>\n Now, with the US <\/span>President Donald Trump signing of an executive order to halt funds going to South Africa <\/span>in relation to the signing of the Expropriation Act, Ndlozi has more kind words for Ramaphosa.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWho would have thought? One day … I would have never bet anything, if there was anything I would have bet against the idea that one day it would be Ramaphosa who says ‘You keep your America, and I will keep my South Africa\u2019 to the most powerful man together with the richest man in the world in defence of nil compensation.<\/span><\/p>\n “Of course, from our circles as radical left, it is not enough, the expropriation is not enough,” Ndlozi said.<\/span><\/p>\n The Act intends to provide for the expropriation of land and other property for public and certain other purposes.<\/span><\/p>\n Ramaphosa’s words came after AfriForum wrote to Trump’s administration requesting them to punish the ANC politicians for the Act, and not ordinary citizens.<\/span><\/p>\n However, the non-governmental organisation which mainly focuses on the interests of Afrikaners, declined Trump’s offer to move to the US, saying they are not going anywhere.<\/span><\/p>\n Ramaphosa has maintained a firm stance, asserting that South Africa will not allow any foreign state to impose its will.<\/span><\/p>\n This position has been met with approval from Ndlozi, along with South Africa’s stance on <\/span>Gaza.<\/span><\/p>\n “Ramaphosa\u2019s government did not just condemn the Gaza bombardment by Israel, it stated that Israel is a genocidal state and took them to The Hague (International Court of Justice).<\/span><\/p>\n “No white puppet acts like that, coupled with the Bela Act, the NHI and all these policies have agitated, disrupted the domestic and global white capitalist establishment,” he said.<\/span><\/p>\n Ndlozi spoke exclusively to the SABC on Monday where he announced his resignation.<\/span><\/p>\n He stated that he was raised in left-wing circles, where Ramaphosa was regarded as part of the “white capitalist” establishment.<\/span><\/p>\n He further explained that Ramaphosa’s rise to billionaire status only served to strengthen this perception.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cCertainly, part of that discourse is that he will always act in the best interests of the white capitalist establishment.<\/span><\/p>\n “His emails in Marikana did not help because he characterised workers as criminals, justifying the action that then occurred during the Marikana massacre … The CR17 statements did not help to find the names of these capitalists who funded his internal ANC campaigns,” he said.<\/span><\/p>\n This is in relation to the Marikana massacre in 2012 where 34 miners were shot dead, and Ramaphosa’s ascendency to the presidency which was heavily funded.<\/span><\/p>\n In the same breath, Ndlozi questioned Ramaphosa’s tactics and how no one saw all this coming.<\/span><\/p>\n Last week while delivering his State of Nation Address (SONA), Ramaphosa told global critics that South Africa would not be bullied, and they would defend their sovereignty at all costs.<\/span><\/p>\n Meanwhile, Ndlozi said he was leaving party politics to focus on academia and also contribute to community development.<\/span><\/p>\n “I am leaving party politics and will contribute to the academy.
