The last time we saw Maps writing something this heartfelt was when he shared his birthday message to his \u2018not BAE\u2019 Nomzamo Mbatha.<\/p>\n
In a rather lengthy and touching message Maps paid tribute to one of his hero\u2019s Lucas Radebe, and shared how meeting him was one experience that he\u2019ll never forget.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is one of the men I grew up looking up to. So when he came up to me to tell me he had been watching me and was proud of me and all that I had achieved, I was naturally blown away,\u201d he starts off.<\/p>\n

One Of The Men I Look Up To\u2026<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\nThis is one of the men I grew up looking up to, Lucas Radebe, South African and World renowned footballer with a great story and inspiring journey; so when he came up to me to tell me that he had been watching me and was proud of me and all that I had achieved I was naturally blown away. I told him I didn\u2019t really deserve that compliment but thanked him nonetheless. \u201cIt may not seem like much now but trust me it is, stay focused, you\u2019re on the right track and you\u2019re doing more than you think\u2026\u201d Personally I\u2019ve always believed in myself but people such as him have put the bar up so high that it\u2019s hard not to be hard on yourself and be hungry for a certain greatness that awaits you, whatever it may be. But things don\u2019t always go to plan and doubting yourself is a trap that becomes easy to be lured and eventually fall into. I\u2019m used to failure now and that\u2019s what keeps me taking risks and fuels the pursuit of excellence. It reminded me of this: The people whom you admire are just people. They are people who struggled, who battled insecurities, who failed, and who got back up again. If they can do it, why can\u2019t you?
