Minister in the Presidency for Electricity, Dr Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, is said to be \u201cdoing well\u201d after he was involved in a vehicle crash on Sunday.<\/p>\n
The crash happened on Sunday afternoon, while the minister was travelling from the North West to Gauteng.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe accident involved the car the minister was being driven in, with two protectors, and another vehicle,\u201d said the ministry of electricity in a statement.<\/p>\n
\u201cAll individuals involved in the accident received prompt medical attention, and after a thorough examination, the minister has been discharged without hospital admission.<\/p>\n
The minister added that the former Tshwane executive mayor is \u201cdoing well\u201d.<\/p>\n
Ramokgopa has conveyed \u201chis heartfelt and sincere wishes\u201d for a speedy recovery of the people who got injured during the crash.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe also sends best wishes to all individuals affected by the incident,\u201d the ministry of electricity added.<\/p>\n
Earlier this month, former president Jacob Zuma was also involved in a crash when a suspected drunk motorist crashed into his convoy.<\/p>\n
The motorist was arrested and later released on bail in KwaZulu Natal.<\/p>\n
The man appeared before the Eshowe Magistrate\u2019s Court, where he was granted R500 bail. He was arrested on charges of driving under the influence and reckless and negligent driving.<\/p>\n
National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson in KwaZulu-Natal, Natasha Ramkisson-Kara, said the accused was expected back in court on May 3, and investigations continue.<\/p>\n
At the time, national police spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe said the crash happened on the R66 road. She added that the 51-year-old man was arrested after colliding with Zuma\u2019s official armoured State vehicle.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt the time of the collision, former President Zuma was in the vehicle with his protectors. No one was injured, including members of the Presidential Protection Services. The former president was evacuated and taken to his residence,\u201d Mathe said at the time.<\/p>\n
