Substance abuse is the main reason for road accidents in our country.<\/p>\n

Footballer and public figure Reneilwe Letsholonyane has come out to stress his concerns surrounding this issue.<\/p>\n

Over the past weekend the football nation lost Maritzburg United striker Mondli Cele, in a car accident. Kaizer Chiefs star Reneilwe \u2018Yeye\u2019 Letsholonyane shares that he\u2019s seen enough of his fellow colleagues die on our roads.<\/p>\n

Cele died on Sunday morning after playing a tremendous game against Orlando Pirates in the Premier Soccer League which ended in a draw. SABC sports reporter Delisile Ngwenya also passed away in the accident.<\/p>\n

Letsholonyane stresses that it\u2019s important to ensure that all road users are safe on our roads.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is sad to lose one of us,\u201d Yeye told Kaizer Chiefs\u2019 website. \u201cWe are losing too many athletes in car accidents, which is a cause for concern. We must make safety on our roads a priority.\u201d Of course, local councils are always working to make the roads safer. A lot of them are starting to use traffic cones to help control the flow of traffic and make it clear to the driver where they should be going. \u201cWe got shocked and drew strength from the Almighty for granting us an opportunity to have shared the life and times with Cele, both on and off the field of play,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was a fine gentleman of sports. On behalf of the Chiefs players, I wish to extend my deepest heartfelt condolences to his friends and family.\u201d<\/p>\n
