\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t Convicted murderer Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye is seen at the Protea Magistrate’s Court in Soweto on Friday, 13 September 2013 where he applied for another bail application. This was Maarohanye’s third appeal for bail since his conviction last October.
\nIn December last year, Maarohanye and his co-accused Themba Tshabalala were each sentenced to 25 years in jail.
\nThe two were each sentenced to 20 years imprisonment for murder and four years imprisonment for attempted murder.
\nFor use of drugs, driving under the influence of drugs, and racing on a public road, they got a year for each count, to run concurrently.

Jub Jub was not stabbed in prison. This morning a story broke that convicted singer Jub Jub had been stabbed in the stomach and thighs whilst playing soccer at the prison. Now the Department of Correctional Services has denied the reports.<\/p>\n

A \u2018source\u2019 had told a local publication that Jub Jub was stabbed with a handmade knife after getting into an argument with another prisoner whilst playing soccer. The reports also said shots were fired and all the prisoners laid down on the ground\u201a with their hands over their heads.<\/p>\n

The Correctional Services Department Gauteng spokesperson Ofentse Morwane told News24 that the report was \u201cincorrect and extremely misleading\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe department has noted with concern these continuously repeated lies that are being carried by certain media houses,\u201d Morwane said.<\/p>\n
