Depression has been a hot topic all over social media for the past few weeks following the tragic passing of Anele \u2018Nelli\u2019 Tembe and 10th grader Lufuno.<\/p>\n
Actress Sophie Lichaba has weighed in on the conversation.<\/p>\n
Speaking to Radio 2000, Sophie goes into detail about the period where she was losing a lot of weight. We all know Sophie from her Generations days as the voluptuous Queen Moroka. After taking a mini hiatus from the public life, she came back with a more thinner body.<\/p>\n
She says she was very depressed that she could not see anything faulty with her body so people\u2019s opinions did not make sense. It was when she saw that she was resembling a \u201cskeleton\u201d, where she started to accept her reality.<\/p>\n
Sophie told the radio station, \u201cI was at the deepest point of depression. I can\u2019t even explain it. When I think about it, I am like \u2018God, you saved me\u2019 because I would look in the mirror and see the same voluptuous woman. You wear the same clothes, the same style at that size and you still think it is normal. That is how deep it was, I couldn\u2019t see a thing.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was like \u2018Who are they talking about? They are talking about me!\u2019 I snapped out of it. Nobody came to me, no friends came to me, and said \u2018I think you are losing weight too rapidly\u2019. Are you still on that diet?\u201d she said, as quoted by TshisaLive.<\/p>\n
