South African radio personality and television presenter Dineo Ranaka has opened up about a deeply personal experience that happened to her a few years ago. The media star shared a reflective video on her Instagram, offering followers a rare and honest look into her journey of healing, faith, and self‑discovery.
In the video, Dineo speaks about an artwork seen behind her, which she revealed was created during a difficult period in her life. She wrote on the video, “Made the piece behind me 2 years ago for Habibi, my partner. When I made it, I was having a mental episode and none of us knew it. A few weeks later I crashed and was admitted into Akeso. We’ve never put it up. Till now. That I am not triggered, but rather in contemplation of its uniqueness when I look at it is a thing only God can explain. It remains incomplete.”
Dineo explained that the artwork remained unfinished, symbolising the season she was in at the time. Looking at it now, she says she feels reflection and gratitude rather than pain, something she believes can only be explained through faith.
In the caption, the presenter went into more detail about that turning point in her life. She wrote, “One morning 2 years ago, May 23, I woke up delirious with a deep urge to seize to exist.” She later shared that through solitude and spiritual reflection, she realised that it was not her physical life that needed to end, but certain ways of being that were holding her back.
She wrote, “I needed seize the existence of the ways that were holding me back. I needed seize the existence of it all but myself physically.” Dineo described this as a moment of deep spiritual awakening, where her spirit was calling for renewal, surrender, and transformation.
Reflecting on her growth, she shared, “A version of me, that we all assumed we knew died. And reborn is this woman that I am enjoying spending time with.” She added that she now feels emotions more deeply and sees life with new clarity and understanding.
Dineo ended her message with a powerful prayer, writing, “Father, please reveal YOUR work of art IN ME, through my hands.” She added, “My nervous system is fixed. And so is my heart on the Lord.”
Through sharing her story, Dineo Ranaka continues to inspire others by showing that healing, faith, and growth are possible, even after the most challenging seasons of life.
