Kelly Khumalo Performs Live with Bodyguard by Her Side Amid Ongoing Drama

South African singer Kelly Khumalo gave a powerful live performance in Dundee, KwaZulu-Natal this past weekend—but it wasn’t just her voice that grabbed attention.

According to The Citizen, Kelly walked on stage dressed like a true queen, looking stunning and full of confidence. She performed with a full band, but what shocked fans most was the heavily armed bodyguard standing close behind her during the entire performance.

A video of the moment was shared online, and fans were quick to talk about the unusual stage setup. Many believe the extra security might be linked to a recent video Kelly posted on Instagram, where she hit back at new accusations in the Senzo Meyiwa murder case.

Senzo Meyiwa, a Bafana Bafana soccer player and Kelly’s former boyfriend, was shot and killed at her family’s home in Vosloorus in October 2014. He was there with Kelly, her sister Zandie, her mother Ntombi, her son Christian, and a few of his friends. The case has been surrounded by confusion, delays, and conspiracy theories ever since.

Recently, the case resurfaced in the media after Malesela Teffo, a disbarred attorney, spoke on the popular show Podcast and Chill. Teffo claimed that Kelly was the one who killed Senzo, allegedly by mistake, while trying to hand him a gun. He also mentioned a supposed warrant of arrest against her.

Kelly has had enough. In an emotional and fiery Instagram video, she slammed Teffo and others for what she called years of public humiliation. “Enough is enough. It stops here and it stops today,” Kelly said.

“I’m not going to be diplomatic about this. I’m not going to release press statements. I’m not going to waste my money hiring lawyers to speak on my behalf.”

She made it clear that she’s done staying quiet while people blame her without proof. “If you strongly believe I am capable of what you are accusing me of, very simple, come and get me. I’m not above the law,” she added.

Kelly also said she’s tired of being the target of what she calls “stupid humiliation rituals.” “I’m at a point where I have had enough of people dragging my name through the mud. It stops now,” she said.
