The family of late South African rapper and music producer Bravo Le Roux has launched a fundraiser to repatriate his body from Switzerland and to support his young daughter.
Bravo, whose real name was Sinesipho Peter, passed away in Switzerland on Thursday, 22 January, at the age of 30. His sudden death has left family, friends and fans across the country heartbroken.
Following his passing, the family revealed that they had received several messages from people asking how they could help during this difficult time. In response, they decided to set up a fundraising campaign to assist with the costs of bringing Bravo’s body back home to South Africa and to ensure long-term support for his daughter.
According to the family, the funds raised will go towards repatriation expenses as well as providing financial assistance for his child in the years ahead. They expressed deep gratitude for the overwhelming support and compassion shown to them.
The GoFundMe campaign has already raised CHF22,188 (about R456,302), which is at least 23% of the CHF100,000 goal (about R2,074,080). The fundraiser continues to gain attention as more people come forward to offer their support.
“Many people have asked how they can support Bravo’s family during this time. A fundraiser has been set up to help with his repatriation to South Africa and to provide long-term support for his daughter. Thank you for the love and respect,” the family said.
In a heartfelt statement, the family confirmed the heartbreaking news and paid tribute to Bravo’s life and legacy. “It is with deep sorrow that we confirm the passing of Bravo Le Roux (Sinesipho Peter), a beloved South African artist whose talent, voice and spirit touched countless lives across the world,” the statement read. “Beyond his artistry, Bravo was a devoted father, a loving son, a brother, a cousin and a dear friend.”
DJ Sab, a DJ and music producer herself, also shared her grief in an emotional Instagram post. She explained that she had stepped away from social media to mourn privately. “With a heavy but loving heart, I share that my husband has passed away. The past days have been overwhelming, and I needed time to grieve and to be strong for our daughter. Thank you for the love, patience, and kindness shown to us. We will always carry him in our hearts.”
