In a bid to facilitate seamless travel for football fans, the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025 Local Organising Committee (LOC), in collaboration with the Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF), has announced the introduction of free electronic visas for supporters attending the tournament.
According to CAFonline, fans can now obtain electronic visas to enter Morocco at no cost through the YALLA app.
This initiative comes as global interest in Africa’s premier football event surges, with many fans already booking their seats via CAF’s ticketing platform.
The tournament is scheduled to take place from December 21 to January 18, 2026.
Mandatory fan ID for stadium access
To enhance security and streamline entry, a fan ID will be required for all stadiums and official Fan Areas.
Supporters can conveniently apply for both the fan ID and the e-visa within the YALLA app, simplifying the travel and stadium access process.
The YALLA app will centralise essential services, including ticketing, fan registration, and a dedicated electronic visa application for international visitors who require a visa.
This app was launched on September 25, ensuring a faster, easier, and secure experience for both international visitors and local fans.
One of the key features of the YALLA app is the fan ID, which serves as a digital identity card for supporters. Without this ID, fans will not be permitted entry into stadiums or fan zones.
CAF has stated, “The Yalla App, which will be launched on 25 September 2025, will serve as the gateway for fans. Every ticket holder will need to register for a fan ID through the app, enabling seamless access to stadiums and fan zones.”
Streamlined visa process for international fans
For international fans requiring a visa to travel to Morocco, the YALLA app will also act as a one-stop shop for obtaining a special AFCON 2025 e-visa, simplifying paperwork and easing travel logistics.
CAF added, “The Yalla app also introduces the e-visa for AFCON, allowing supporters worldwide to apply digitally. Fans will enjoy real-time updates, tailored information, and exclusive tournament content, making Morocco 2025 the most connected TotalEnergies CAF AFCON ever.”
Temporary extension of Electronic Travel Authorisation
In addition, authorities have announced a temporary extension of the Electronic Travel Authorisation (AEVM) system to citizens of eight additional African countries: Algeria, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Gabon, Niger, Senegal, Togo and Tunisia.
The AEVM (Autorisation Électronique de Voyage au Maroc) system is already available to citizens of several visa-exempt countries travelling to Morocco, including Congo, Ghana, Guinea, Mali, and, more recently, Ecuador.
This temporary extension will be in effect until January 25, 2026, aiming to streamline entry procedures, ensure safe travel, and accommodate the expected influx of supporters and visitors during the tournament.
