Some of Mzansi’s biggest stars came out to play on the AFI Miss South Africa 2025 red carpet.
This gathering is hosted by Miss SA 2023 Natasha Vermaak and Dr Fezile Mkhize, who was Mister Supranational in 2024.
The former beauty queen stunned in a royal blue gown with elegant beadwork while Mkhize looked dapper in an all black fit.
Meanwhile, the evening was a full circle moment for former titleholder Dr. Tamryn Green Nxumalo who is part of this year’s judging panel. She arrived on the red carpet rocking the same white dress she wore on the night she was crowned Miss SA in 2018.
Fellow judge and titleholder Ndavi Nokeri also made a statement in a multi-coloured by red-based garment which received praise on the red carpet.
Also a judge, brand strategist Thebeetsile Ikalafeng, opted for an all-black look, designed by House of Nala, which featured distinctive white stitching.
Peggy-Sue Khumalo, who was crowned Miss SA 1996 also graced the red carpet, wearing a draped, light blue silk dress.
Also on the red carpet was “Big Brother Titans” winner Khosi Twala in a black embroided gown as well musician Ciza in a red MaXhosa set and fellow artist Langa Mavuso in a white sleeveless blazer with matching pants.
“Blood & Water” star Natasha Tahane also arrived for the big occasion, wearing red, fitted dress with vibrant detailing.
The official ceremony, which kicks off at 7pm on Saturday, October 25 and will be broadcast live on S3 and Mzansi Magic (DStv channel 161), will be hosted by television presenter and actress Nomalanga Shozi and South African media personality Pamela Mtanga.
As a new beauty queen is set to be crowned, this decision is down to the brand-new judging panel. They include Nxumalo, Nokeri as well as actress Cindy Mahlangu, award-winning broadcast journalist Heidi Giokos and brand strategist Ikalafeng.
This year’s top nine who are heading into the finale are Bridgett Jones, Gizelle Venske, Ghee-Ann Rademan, Buyisile Mashile and Karabo Mareka.
Nthabiseng Kgasi, Qhawekazi Mazaleni, Zanele Phakathi Luyanda Zuma round off the finalists.
As part of the proceedings, the group will be reduced to a Top 5 with the Top 3 to be announced as the winner is crowned.
The new titheholder will receive a prize package worth over R3 million.
