Thuli Phongolo Announces New Song ‘HAI SUKA’ and Opens Up About Her Journey in Entertainment

Actress, DJ, and entrepreneur Thuli Phongolo has shared exciting news with her fans. Taking to Instagram, she announced her brand-new song “HAI SUKA” featuring Nia Pearl, which will be part of her upcoming album AVANA, set to drop on 31 October 2025.

In her post, Thuli revealed the inspiration behind the empowering song, writing: “HAI SUKA – be her, own her and celebrate HER! 31 October 2025.

Thuli shared that she began her career at just fifteen years old, filled with passion, a desire to learn, and a determination to grow. “I stepped into the entertainment industry at fifteen full of passion, a hunger to learn and a willingness to grow,” she said.

She looked back fondly on her acting career, which began with Tshisa and later expanded to popular shows like Thula’s Vine, Craz-e, Generations, Makoti, The Republic, Rockville, and The Wife. “Each project has shaped my craft and deepened my respect for storytelling,” she reflected.

In 2017, Thuli made a life-changing decision — she stepped into the world of DJing. “That decision changed my life,” she admitted. “It has sustained me creatively and professionally and it reaffirmed my belief that reinvention is a strength, not a risk especially through all the public trials and tribulations.”

Over the years, Thuli has also worked with respected brands through various commercials, endorsements, and partnerships. She said these experiences have always aligned with her personal and professional values.

She proudly holds a BA in Strategic Brand Management from the University of Johannesburg, which she says has empowered her to build a purposeful business in entertainment, media, and entrepreneurship.

Recently, Thuli founded AVANA Records, a new chapter in her music journey and a platform to uplift future artists. Her first EP, AVANA, marks this exciting beginning.

“To everyone who has supported me in any form, whether through screens, stages, social media or real-life encounters: THANK YOU,” she said. “Your belief has fueled my purpose and shaped the woman I am becoming.”

Ending her message on an inspiring note, Thuli added, “The foundation is solid. The vision is bigger. It is time to ascend and evolve.”
