Here’s your Tuesday weather in South Africa: what to expect

The South African Weather Service forecasts another day of calm and mostly dry weather across the country on Tuesday, 7 October 2025.

No impact-based weather warnings have been issued, indicating stable conditions nationwide.

Light, isolated showers are expected in a few areas, with a 30% chance of rain forecast for parts of Limpopo, Mpumalanga, and the eastern regions of KwaZulu-Natal.

Residents in Polokwane, Phalaborwa, Mbombela, and along the north-eastern escarpment may experience brief afternoon or evening thundershowers.

Minimal rainfall is expected on Tuesday.

In the Western Cape, isolated rainfall of around 30% is expected in areas around Worcester and along parts of the south coast, including Mossel Bay and Plettenberg Bay. The remainder of the country, including the Northern Cape, Free State, North West, and interior regions, is expected to remain dry and mild.

According to the South African Weather Service, most parts of the country will experience fine and warm conditions, with isolated showers expected only in parts of the northeast and southwest.

Gauteng is forecast to be fine and warm, becoming partly cloudy with isolated showers and thundershowers in the extreme northeast.

Mpumalanga will start with morning fog in the south, becoming partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated thundershowers, except in the southwest. Limpopo will be partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated showers and thundershowers, while the North West and Free State are expected to remain fine and warm.

The Northern Cape will see cloudy conditions with morning fog patches over the southwest, clearing later to fine and warm weather.

The Western Cape will start cloudy with drizzle and fog in the west before clearing to fine and cool to warm conditions. Along the south coast, early morning showers are expected west of Cape St Francis, while the rest of the Eastern Cape will remain fine and cool.

KwaZulu-Natal will be cloudy in the morning with fog over the interior, becoming partly cloudy and cool to warm later in the day, with isolated showers and rain expected over the north-eastern parts.
