outh African rapper and businessman Cassper Nyovest has shared his anger and frustration after a disappointing experience with Uber. What was supposed to be a kind gesture for a friend’s birthday ended in disappointment when the gift was stolen by the Uber courier driver.
Cassper explained that he had ordered the delivery through Uber’s courier service, hoping to surprise his friend with an expensive and thoughtful present. However, things didn’t go as planned. Instead of completing the delivery, the driver, identified as Dymon, reportedly stole the package and later claimed he had returned it to Cassper.
In a recent video shared on his Instagram, Cassper explained the situation in detail, saying a very expensive present he bought for a friend’s birthday was never delivered. According to him, the gift was stolen by an Uber driver, and despite weeks of promises from the company, nothing has been resolved.
“It’s been almost 2 weeks since I posted about my incident with Uber. I’ve hit maybe 10 calls from them saying the same thing. I’ve got messages from some of their employees promising to return my parcel saying that they have it and they found the driver but nothing has happened,” Cassper said in the clip.
The rapper went on to express his disappointment at what he called “lies and false promises” from the company. “What I hate the most is the lies and the promises that they make as I’ve even sent my address. So now I don’t even know who I sent my address to. Maybe I was stupid for sending that lady my address because she went quiet after that. I don’t know how many of you guys have experienced this but I think the service that Uber is giving us lately is just complete rubbish and I’m going to delete the app.”
Cassper didn’t hold back in his caption either, calling out the company directly. “I’m definitely deleting the @uber @ubereats_za apps!!! I think we all should!! This is pure rubbish!!! Why did y’all lie saying you have my parcel and that you will return it??? Then just go quiet!!! You do not care about your customers!! So many people are complaining!!!” he wrote.
Fans in the comments section sympathised with him, with many saying they had experienced similar issues with the service.
For Cassper, however, this incident was the final straw. After losing a valuable gift and patience with Uber’s handling of the matter, he made it clear: he is done with the app.
