“Boothangs, We Won!” – Pamela Mtanga Celebrates Glamour’s Most Glamorous Style Influencer Award

South African media personality and TV host Pamela Mtanga is full of gratitude after winning Glamour South Africa’s Most Glamorous 2025 Style Influencer award. The annual Glamour Fashion Awards, held on Saturday, 19 July in Johannesburg, was a star-studded event that honoured bold, stylish individuals who aren’t afraid to express themselves through fashion.

Pamela looked stunning as she accepted her award, and she later took to social media to thank everyone who has supported her journey.

In her heartfelt post, she wrote: “Boothangs WE WON Glamour’s Most Glamorous 2025 Style Influencer because of your support, Thank you! I wake up every single week with a new vision and my team never says no, I’m encouraged and systems are built to support that. I show up the way that I do because I feel like a child whose parents validate her dreams. Thank you @punchlineprojects!”

Pamela opened up about how she decided to return to creating fashion content online, something she’s always loved. That decision turned out to be life-changing.

“When I made the conscious decision to go back to creating fashion videos… by the next month it was in motion, with a fellow creator who was looking to find her feet behind the scenes,” she explained.

She spoke lovingly about working with content creator @sesethu_yabo, who helped her bring her vision to life: “She was at my house bright and early, yapping but also helping me pack and style. We’d be chasing the sun from Cape Town CBD to Sea Point in order for us to finish shooting. I’d be changing in the car with random strangers seeing more than they should,  but this makes it all worth it!”

Pamela also reflected on the moment she realised that a career in fashion was truly possible.

“The first time I ever saw my fashion career as a possibility was when I requested to take clothes from an @adidasza x Ivy Park campaign shoot and went out to shoot with the clothes. The video led to at least 25% of my following discovering me on social media. What a pivotal moment for my career because if it wasn’t for that moment, I wouldn’t be creating fashion content. Years later I’m a lifestyle ambassador for the brand.”

She also touched on the financial challenges that come with being a fashion content creator.

“In my speech I mentioned how expensive of a task this is. 90% of my clothes aren’t sponsored meaning that I buy the clothes that you see me style. And because I re-style them, it’s hard to take them back to the store. I don’t do what I do for awards but I won’t lie, it feels good to get recognition!”

She ended her message with special thanks to Glamour SA: “Thank you @glamour_sa for always supporting and seeing me. From my first ever digital cover to my Glamour Woman Of the Year award in 2023 to now this award, I see you see me and I don’t know if any other publication that has done that.”
