A father has been hailed a hero after he jumped into the ocean to save his daughter who had fallen overboard while on a Disney Dream cruiseliner.
The incident took place between the Bahamas and Fort Lauderdale, at the weekend.
Witness and fellow passenger, Dewayne Smith, shared that the little girl fell overboard and her father jumped in to save her.
“Man overboard calls went up immediately. The Disney crew went into action asap. Lots of praying folks on this ship! Both the little girl and dad were both successfully rescued,” Smith shared on his Facebook account.
Another passenger, Laura Amador, told reporters that the ship was moving quickly and the captain managed to slow down and turn the giant cruiseliner around.
Speaking to CBS News, Amador said a tender ship was deployed to rescue the man and his daughter.
Disney has commended the rescue team for their exceptional skills and prompt actions.
