Halle Berry is proving that menopause isn’t the end for a woman, but a bold new beginning.
The Oscar-winning actress has become one of Hollywood’s most outspoken voices on the subject, using her platform to break the stigma and encourage women to embrace this stage of life with pride, power, and honesty.
In a recent Instagram post, Berry kept things real, writing: “Best part of menopause? I don’t give a f*ck. Not about opinions. Not about playing it cute. I move how I want, wear what I want, and do it for me. That’s the freedom no one tells you about ‘til you’re living it.”
Along with the caption, she included snippets from a video she posted earlier in the week.
In the playful clip, the 58-year-old is seen dancing freely around the house in a teeny white bikini to her partner Van Hunt’s new track, “Prelims”.
At one point in the video, her bikini bottom accidentally slips off.
“Age is just a number and feeling youthful and beautiful is really an internal feeling and has nothing to do really with our physical self,” she says in the post.
The video, which was filmed by Hunt, perfectly captures her carefree, unfiltered approach to this phase of her life.
But Berry’s frankness about menopause goes far beyond social media.
Earlier this year, she appeared on Oprah Winfrey’s ABC special, “An Oprah Winfrey Special: The Menopause Revolution”, where she opened up about how she felt entering perimenopause.
“When I figured out that I was in perimenopause and I knew that I didn’t have to stay stuck in this very scary, very alone, rageful place, then I felt the power,” she told Winfrey. “I said, ‘Wow, I feel like I’m the best me I’ve ever been.’”

“I was alone. I was afraid. I thought I was going crazy,” she said. “And I thought, ‘My God, if I felt like this, I can imagine that millions of other women felt this way,’ and I was compelled to do something.”
Berry added: “It’s a privilege to age, and we should see it that way.”
