Make the circle bigger! Mamelodi Sundowns showcase Mzansi flair with dance moves after Club World Cup exit

They may have bowed out from the Club World Cup on Wednesday following their 0-0 Group F draw with Fluminense, but that didn’t stop Mamelodi Sundowns from celebrating after the final whistle.

Coming into the premier club football competition in the world, the Betway Premiership champions were not expected to trouble some of the heavy hitters in the group.

Instead, Sundowns beat South Korean outfit Ulsan HD in their first outing, competed strongly with German giants Borussia Dortmund before going down 4-3 and finally they drew with the Brazilian side Fluminense.

There’s no disputing that Sundowns punched above their weight, but it was also a good indicator of just how good they really are – if their eighth successive league title in a row this season did not do the trick.

Sundowns Celebrate Dominant Performance Against Fluminense with Unique Dance

After their encounter with Fluminense drew to a close, the entire Sundowns squad was seen taking part in a uniquely South African dance. It was clearly celebrating how far they had come in just their second-ever appearance at the tournament.

A number of Sundowns fans could also be seen in the stands at Hard Rock Stadium, in Florida, USA.

During the match itself, Sundowns were the dominant side with 68% of the ball, 89% pass accuracy as they delivered 553 passes to the 260 of their opponents.

Sundowns also had more shots at goal with seven to the six of Fluminense.

After the match, Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso sang the praises of his troops.

“Some teams came here and took nothing but Mamelodi Sundowns leave with a lot -– we took four points, we lost just one game and we drew one game in which it was clear we had the best chances,” said Cardoso.
