Stars Shine in Traditional Style at Shaka iLembe Season 2 Premiere

The much-awaited Season 2 premiere of Shaka iLembe lit up Johannesburg last night as celebrities stepped out in their finest traditional outfits to celebrate the return of the hit drama series. The premiere event, held with glitz and glam, saw the gold carpet filled with stars showing love and support for the upcoming season.

Shaka iLembe returns to screens on Sunday, 15 June at 20:00 on Mzansi Magic, continuing the powerful story of King Shaka’s rise—from a young boy to the legendary leader of the Zulu nation. The series dives deep into the life, challenges, and victories of the famous king while celebrating the rich culture and history of the Zulu Kingdom.

One of the show’s stars and executive producers, Nomzamo Mbatha, who plays Shaka’s mother Nandi, looked breathtaking on the gold carpet in a custom Gert-Johan Coetzee outfit. Fans couldn’t stop talking about her regal presence.

Nomzamo was joined by Lemogang Tsipa, who plays Shaka, and her real-life brother Zamani Mbatha, one of the exciting new cast members for Season 2. The trio made a strong impression as they posed together, giving a glimpse of what to expect from the next chapter.

Season 2 promises even more drama, action, and emotion with the introduction of new faces like veteran ctress Dawn Thandeka King, who plays Mkabayi.  Melusi Mbele, Andile Mxakaza, Wonder Ndlovu, Thandolwethu Zondi, and Lindo Mbonani. The new cast members joining the world of Shaka iLembe also include Luyanda Zuma, Amanda Seome, Anele Sphamandla Nene, and Sikhanyiso Sithole—each bringing something fresh and exciting to the screen.

The event was also attended by popular local celebrities such as Londie London, Khosi Twala, Thembinkosi Mthembu, LaConco, Lasizwe, and many more, showing strong support for South African storytelling.

With so much excitement and star power, fans are counting down the days to Sunday’s premiere. Season 2 of Shaka iLembe is set to raise the bar even higher.
