Police in the Western Cape are urgently appealing for public assistance in locating two men, Robert Anele Nkwitshi, 34, and Luvo Mojozi, 32, who are believed to be linked to the brutal double murder of two security guards in Gugulethu.
The incident occurred on November 26, 2024, in NY108 at about 10.55am.
Police spokesperson said the victims, employees of World Class Protection security services, were seated in their marked vehicle guarding technicians working on a nearby cellphone tower when they were ambushed.
“While the technicians were inside the tower, the two victims were approached by three males, two from the passenger side and one at the driver’s side,” said police.
“The one at the passenger side fired several shots at the two victims who were sitting inside the vehicle.”
The passenger was shot multiple times and died at the scene.
The driver, though wounded, managed to exit the vehicle but was forced to lie on the ground by the suspects, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The attackers then looted both victims of their cellphones, wallets, and a non-lethal firearm. One technician was also robbed at gunpoint.
“The suspects then fled the scene on foot,” police said.
Police urge the public to come forward with any information that could lead to locating Nkwitshi and Mojozi.
“We appeal to anyone who may have information regarding the whereabouts of these two people,” the police added.
