Lasizwe Dambuza is making his dreams come true, one Awkward Date at a time! The popular South African media star, known for his hit YouTube series Awkward Dates, just revealed some exciting news — one of his dream celebrity guests will be joining him on this week’s episode, set to air this Thursday.
Although Lasizwe didn’t reveal who the special guest is just yet, fans have already started guessing in the comments. Many believe it could be none other than Miss South Africa 2019 and Miss Universe 2019, Zozibini Tunzi. But for now, Lasizwe is keeping the name a surprise.
In May, Lasizwe shared a list of five celebrities he would love to go on a date with on the show. He posted, “Manifesting to go on an Awkward Date with them!” — and included a list of his dream guests.
First on his list is Bonang Matheba, also known as Queen B. She’s one of South Africa’s most well-known personalities — a TV host, actress, and media queen. Bonang hosted the Miss South Africa pageant in 2018, 2019, and again in 2024.
Next up is Tyla, the rising global music star known for her Grammy and BET wins. With hits like Water and Jump, Tyla has become the “Queen of Popiano” — blending pop with amapiano music.
Zozibini Tunzi, another one of his dream guests, is admired for her grace, beauty, and intelligence. She made history as the first Black South African woman to win Miss Universe — and fans are hoping she’s the one appearing this week.
Lasizwe also mentioned Uncle Waffles, the talented DJ and amapiano superstar. She’s famous for her music and dance moves and was even called the “princess of amapiano” by Billboard. Her debut single Tanzania went 7× platinum — an impressive achievement!
The final name on his dream list is actor Thembinkosi Mthembu, known for roles in Shaka iLembe, The River, and Kalushi. He recently won a SAFTA award for Best Actor for his powerful role as King Dingiswayo in Shaka iLembe.
