Adanan Beganovic is not surprised by TS Galaxy’s impressive finish in the Betway Premiership, as he never doubted the team’s depth.
Galaxy completed their Betway Premiership campaign over the weekend following their 1-1 draw with Orlando Pirates at Orlando Stadium.
It was an impressive finish to the season that saw coach Beganovic and his troops finish in the Top 8 for the second season running in the club’s history. However, the Rockets didn’t finish the season like how they started as they had a poor start which saw them being stuck at the bottom of the log.

Galaxy’s start was so poor so much so that then coach Sead Ramovic resigned on live television, resulting in his then assistant Beganovic ascending to the hot seat.
Beganovic grabbed the opportunity with both hands as he didn’t only save the team from relegation, but impressively finished in the Top 8 as well.
Speaking after their draw with the second-placed Pirates deep in the bowels of Orlando Stadium in his post-match reaction, he opened up on how things changed at Galaxy.
“In the beginning, we only had one wish and that was to stay in the league,” Beganovic revealed.
“But when I spoke with the chairman, I initially said I wanted to sign for just six months. It was a tough situation because we were sitting at the bottom.
“We lacked some luck in some games because we had the quality, and we created scoring chances. But we couldn’t score and lost easily. And that changed for us.”
Beganovic shook things up at the Rockets so much so that there was a time when the team enjoyed a purple-patch of a 13-game unbeaten run across all competitions.
The 42-year-old coach, though, is pleased that his decision to stay true to his philosophy yielded results in the process as well.
“We wanted to keep the same structure, and quality. My goal is always to present good and beautiful football,” Beganovic said.
“I don’t want to play low block. Even if I play against a strong team – like Pirates – I want to improve and show our vision. So, that’s how we train and prepare our team.”

Galaxy might have qualified for the MTN8 back-to-back for the first time in their history, but they’ve already established themselves as a selling club.
Former-agent-turned-chairman Tim Sukazi is not afraid of openly marketing some of his best players to the big three and European clubs as he believes that benefits Bafana Bafana.
Sukazi sold defender Samukelo Kabini to Norway top-flight side Molde FK during the January transfer window, revealing that was a record-breaking move for the club.
With the winter transfer window looming, there are concerns that the club might sell their best players as well. But Beganovic is not worried as that’s part of their model anyway.
“It’s not tough for me. I actually have a clear conversation with the chairman when we decide to sell somebody,” Beganovic explained.
“We decide together, and we can’t sell all our players. It was tough in the beginning, but now we sell who we want to and what we have produced as well.
“We brought Kambini to the final product, and when a club like Molde from Europe came, we couldn’t say anything else besides selling him.”
