Stellenbosch FC made light work of Lamontville Golden Arrows with a 3-0 thrashing at the Hammarsdale Stadium in KwaZulu-Natal on Saturday.
Despite the ball possession being relatively even, Stellenbosch capitalised on their chances and put Arrows on the back foot a third of the way through the first half.
The 11th-placed Golden Arrows were eager to crack into the top 10 of the PSL and add a win to their sheet after, but the dry spell continued.
The match posed a significant opportunity for both teams, as Stellenbosch tried to secure a top-three finish, with Arrows hoping to make the top 10 of the PSL.

Devin Titus, the 23-year-old right side forward, opened the scoring in the 14th minute of the match.
Midway through the first half, Arrows still looked like they were ready to put up a fight, but couldn’t get the breakthrough they chased.
Stellenbosch went into the halftime break with the lead, but started the second half with a change almost immediately after the restart due to an injury.
Ismael Toure had to be replaced by Athenkosi Mcaba after an injury.
At the hour mark, the tempo of the game looked to be slowing down, which prompted a double change by Stellenbosch.
Goal-scorer Titus was substituted for Lesiba Nku, with Khomotjo Lekoloane replaced by Sanele Barns.

Eight minutes after the change, Nku made another breakthrough for Stellies and scored in the 70th minute, with another goal shortly after in the 72nd minute, with Thabo Moloisane putting the nail in the Arrows coffin.
It was a special goal for Moloisane as it was his 50th appearance for the club.
The third consecutive win for Stellies puts them on even terms with Orlando Pirates, who have played three games less than the Western Cape football outfit before Saturday’s clash with Kaizer Chiefs.
After 25 games, Stellenbosch are now on 44 points.
The Arrows thrashing comes after a win against Chippa United on Wednesday, with Stellies only losing one match in the last six games.
Golden Arrows have endured a sour run in recent times, winning just two of their last 12 matches in all competitions.
If Stellies can continue this form, a spot in either the Champions League or the Confederation Cup next year is likely to happen.
