When popular Isixhosa news anchor Noxolo Grootboom announced her shock resignation many months ago, many South Africans were hurt by her decision.
She is considered as the trailblazer of local indigenous news.
But great news to her multitudes of fans is that she back in the limelight and doing what she is well famed for.
Almost two years later, she is back on temporary basis doing what she does best on Newzroom Afrika’s Izindaba Zethu/Iindaba Zethu, which will air on Mzansi Wethu.
She is standing in for the main anchor Lisakhanya Pepe who is out on maternity leave for six weeks.
“Seeing these young people being so enthusiastic and embracing our mother tongue makes me proud, and I hope they will also pave the way for the next generation of news anchors,” she said.
She added that this was her way of giving back to the community
She can be seen on Mzansi Wethu from Monday at 7pm
