There are many Celebrities with Vitiligo, yet these 5 female models look beautiful even with their skin conditions. Vitiligo is a condition that affects the pigments of an individual’s skin. The cause of vitiligo is unknown and stress can worsen the disorder. Vitiligo can be treated by applying steroids and using ultraviolet light. In extreme cases, an individual may opt to de-pigment their unaffected skin so that it blends in with the patches affected by vitiligo.
They’ve been ridiculed and subjected to frustrating questions, but along the way have become proud ambassadors for their condition.
These five female celebs have vitiligo, which results in white patches on the skin. Here’s how it has affected them, and how they found the courage to speak up about it.
Kgothatso Iman Dithebe
This beauty queen and model is one of the few well-known South Africans who openly embraces her vitiligo.
Kgothatso, who is known as a “mark model,” was frequently harassed as a kid because of the visible scar on her face and head. The bullies were completely unaware that her mark would become her source of income.
Kgothatso competed for the title of Miss South Africa in both 2019 and 2021, with both years finding her among the competition’s top five finalists. The motivation behind her participation was a desire to encourage other women to have confidence in themselves.
We couldn’t be more pleased of Kgothatso, who made history as the first South African model to openly discuss her vitiligo.
Shahad Salman
Another beautiful person who embraces her uniqueness while having vitiligo is Saudi beauty Shahad Salman. She has previously discussed the importance of diversity in the modeling profession and how Harlow’s success gave her hope that she, too, could become a successful model.
Winnie Harlow
Winnie Harlow should be at the top of the list since she is a model who has never tried to cover up a skin issue with cosmetics. When people think of someone with vitiligo, they often think of Winnie Harlow.
Vitiligo, in Winnie Harlow’s view, is merely another form of individual variation, like her long hair, blonde hair, white skin, petite stature, etc. She’s a famous model who’s been on catwalks all around the world.
Carissa Orr
I realize that your Vitiligo experience is unlike everyone else’s, but please take comfort in the fact that you are not alone.
Orr made a statement on the social media platform Instagram. We are more than the color of our skin. “But that’s just a little slice of who we are.” Have a good time with that song.
