Now I understand why they say we shouldn’t trust anything from social media platforms. People have the tendency of spreading lies just to get popularity and all that not realising that whatever they spread could have negative impact in that person’s life. Just imagine after you have failed your matric, seeing yourself trending on social media that you have passed with flying colours.
Thando Thabethe Dlamuka is a 20 year-old girl who got married in the year 2019 at the age of 15 to Siyacela Dlamuka, who was 16 then. Last year; 2021, Thando was doing her matric. Falling pregnant for her dropout and cheating husband affected her academics, let’s not forget that matric needs time and positive thinking.
Siyacela was no longer a supportive husband to Thando as he promised to be. He was cheating on her openly without any remorse. He would go out for days with his side chick and leave Thando at his home and not even bothering himself to tell her his whereabouts. Wherever she asked him, he would be like “how is that any of your business?”.
In January this year (2022), during the matric results revelation, there was a matric statement of results claimed to be Thando’s, circulating on social media platforms. The result were so much beautiful, ‘flying colours’ pass. Everyone was so suprised that how on earth did she manage to make it after the struggle she went through. People were so happy and even congratulated her for being an ‘imbokodo’.
Well, on tonight’s episode of Isencane lengane (05 June 2022) Thando made a confession and clarity to viewers that she has actually failed her matric, the results which were claimed to be hers aren’t belonging to her. With Siyacela cheating and pregnancy on top of that, affected Thando’s academic performance. Poor Thando also lost her body weight.
Almost everyone Thando’s father blame Siyacela for Thando’s matric results. Some blames her parents; especially the father for being not there for her. People (viewers) even tweeted about Isencane lengane. The tweets read thus:
“Thando failed, please arrest that person who wrote that article saying she passed with flying colours”
“Everyone in Thando’s life has failed her shame”
“So she did not pass, but her father congratulated her on social media without confirmation. What a shame!
