Most parents send their children to schools in cities because they believe that they can get a better education under very strict conditions. Schools in cities charge fees, which makes parents believe that teachers and school management will be motivated to do more.
Unfortunately lack of discipline and drugs have arrived even in schools that were once thought to be perfect. This should be a course for concern for officials and parents.
An unannounced search by the Capricorn District municipality at a prestigious school in Polokwane revealed a lot of weapons and other paraphernalia.
The school visited is Noorderland High School located at the start of dorp street in Polokwane just on the off ramp from N1 from Makro. The school is well respected, unfortunately the arrival of most of learners from surrounding townships has brought with it a lot of problems.
The search revealed a lot of scissors, condoms and drugs carried by learners.
