This Wednesday (19), Jidu, a joint company created by Geely and Baidu, released a teaser showing the look of the brand’s new concept car, revealing some interesting details.
According to the company, this will be one of the most advanced models in terms of technology currently available on the market. It is possible that the vehicle has a semi-autonomous driving system, as well as full or partial implementation of voice commands.
Based on the teaser, the concept car appears to have a device at the center of the front of the vehicle, with the JiDU branding signature and “JiDU AI purple” as its default display color, which will also be the brand’s official color.

The purpose of the device is still unknown, but it is likely that the device will work similarly to NIO’s NOMI virtual voice assistant, based on artificial intelligence to learn every passenger’s habits, adjusting the car to each one’s needs.
The video also shows a coupe-like model with frameless doors, a design adopted in most conventional electric vehicles. The difference lies in the way the front doors open, which will most likely use the gull-wing model.
The LiDAR sensor is a key part of the self-driving car framework, but the teaser didn’t provide more information about the system. However, in August 2021, JiDU signed a contract with the Chinese Hesai Technology to develop an advanced driving assistance system, considered safer and more efficient.
As for market availability, the car made by Baidu in collaboration with Geely is expected to be officially unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show in April, with mass production and delivery expected in 2023.
