Cyclist taken to hospital after crash with HGV in Glasgow

Broomielaw, Glasgow

A cyclist has been taken to hospital after a serious road crash with an HGV in Glasgow city centre.

Emergency services, including firefighters and several ambulance crews, were called to the scene at the Riverboat Casino on Broomielaw at about 10:10

Police have cordoned off the area and the road is closed.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said it had sent three fire engines and specialist resources.

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokeswoman (SAS) said three ambulances and a trauma team attended.

No further details have been released about the patient, who his being treated at the city’s Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
